Coffee Fellows Hotel Dortmund

Visited Dortmund for the Christmas market and stayed in Coffee Fellows Hotel for one night. They try to do everything digital, from check-in to check-out, which works but is slightly impersonal. The room is good, everything was decent, neat and clean. The shower was even the best I had in a hotel for a long time. But it all comes crumbling down with breakfast: 1. The breakfast is advertised at different rates (@ Coffee Fellows, you fellow app prices don't match what we were charged per person) 2. The receptionist must have been under a lot of pressure (trying to find an excuse here for the behaviour) but we got the feeling our simple question of 'can we eat breakfast' was too much, and we got several rude responses and walked away from that conversation with a feeling of being a nuisance to her. *Poof* gone is the feeling of hospitality. Fine right, bad days happen... no: 3. This breakfast in the current form is not worth 14,90 per person, it really isn't. - Only hard boiled eggs, no other egg options - No bacon or sausages - No salmon - Only hard rolls and croissants, if they are not finished, queue next item: - We had to wait for refill on numerous basic items - There was no table available and we had to sit at the bar waiting for a table I travel monthly for work throughout Europe and Germany, and I'm sorry but this is the least value for money breakfast I have seen in years. In summary, we could sleep here again if we visit Dortmund, but we would get breakfast elsewhere. Which is odd, since we were excited for breakfast in a coffee place...

As a single traveler passing through Dortmund for one night, I had a lovely stay here. The hotel is located within 8 min walk from the Main Train Station, in close proximity to the shopping area. The rooms are spotless clean, kudos to your cleaning staff for keeping the standard high. The ambiance of the room was welcoming and peaceful for the night’s sleep. The check in and check out can be done via their platform without hassle. One small thing: as a coffee drinker who likes to have her coffee first thing in the morning (before the 6:30 opening times of the breakfast) I would have wanted to have a small coffee machine in the room. I’m thinking that since Coffee Fellows is such a brand in the coffee business, it can easily strike a deal to buy coffee machines and provide coffee in the rooms, this way also promoting coffee beans, just a thought. Otherwise it was a lovely and convenient stay :)

I was a hotel guest for less than two days. As a person with a disability, I needed a room that would be adapted for people with disabilities. The room was indeed like that, thanks to the courtesy of the hotel staff, it was adapted perfectly to my own needs. However, there were a few complications during my stay that affected my trip to some extent. Shortly after my arrival at the hotel, the only elevator in the building broke down. As it was a Sunday, the repair took a bit longer than it should have. Therefore, I waited to check into the room about 4 hours longer than I should have. Luckily the lift was repaired the same day and worked for the rest of my stay, otherwise I would have spent the night in the cafe part... Another major problem for me was the door. They were too heavy for me to open them myself, so every time I wanted to leave I had to call someone from the reception. Here I want to emphasize - I do not have any negative opinions about employees! They were wonderful, helpful and empathetic! Without their help, this journey would have been much more difficult for me. If I can give you any advice, please check the condition of the lift prior to the arrival of a person with a disability if you know of their arrival. Because due to one elevator and rooms on the 4th floor, it can be a big problem if the elevator gets a serious fault. Similarly with the doors to the rooms, I understand the security issues, etc., but not every disabled person has full strength, and we people in a wheelchair usually have to push the wheelchair with the other hand to go through the already open door. Anyway, I will be back to Dortmund soon, I will definitely come for a delicious coffee!!

The first room we were given, had a safe that was not working. The manager tried several times to fix it, however it was not repairable at that time. The second room we were given was larger, but we liked the layout of the first, smaller room better. The service, we felt was great in trying to get the safe to work, as well as moving us as soon as he knew the safe would not be working. The location of the hotel is excellent. We parked at the parking garage nearby and to our happy surprise, the exit/entrance to the parking garage was only about one minute to the hotel. We paid for the breakfast which we were happy with... this meant we didn't have to go look for a place to eat, costing more time. The breakfast is buffet style and has a good assortment of breads, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juices tea and coffees.
